When Dave Hill founded Hilco Mortgage in 1995, he was the company’s sole employee. His 13 years in the banking and mortgage industry left him eager to open his own shop, and as a Douglas County native, he knew the area well. With just a small office in downtown Baldwin City, Hill hoped to attract customers throughout Douglas County, providing new home loans, refinancing and home equity/second mortgage loans.
Today, Hilco serves customers in six counties, with new offices in Lawrence,Topeka and Kansas City. Hilco customers have access to mortgage products from eight mortgage companies, allowing Hilco to closely match consumer needs with products on the market. The company offers 10 distinct loan options designed to fit any customer’s financial situation.
